Shower Base Thresholds
Every shower opening is different. Your threshold can be too.
Pick your shower base material, then choose an integrated or barrier-free threshold. We manufacture the base around your project.
Standard threshold heights differ by material
Two threshold options
A raised threshold formed right into the shower base. It gives a clean, defined edge at the shower opening and a flat seat for the glass.
How tall the threshold is.
2½” standard
1.5″3.5″4.5″
The flat top where the glass sits, measured from the room side to the shower side.
4″ standard
2″35″6″
A gentle ramp from the finished floor up into the shower for easier walk-in or roll-in access.
The height at the very front of the ramp, where it meets your finished floor.
½”¾”1″
Also called profile height. This is not the same as threshold height.
The height at the top of the ramp, where the glass sits.
1½”2″3″

You don’t have to figure this out alone.
Send us your rough dimensions, photos, drawings, or project plans. Our team can help determine the appropriate threshold configuration for your shower.
Final dimensions are confirmed before your custom shower base enters production.
